FBI traps fraudsters with its own token
The FBI's launched a fictitious cryptocurrency, NexFundAI, to identify rogue market makers, accused of artificially manipulating the market through practices such as wash trading and pump and dump. This type of fraud involves artificially inflating the activity of certain tokens in order to deceive investors. Among the companies involved were ZM Quant, CLS Global and MyTrade, which were accused of washtrading numerous transactions. As a result, several arrests were made, notably in the UK, Portugal and Texas, involving 18 individuals and companies. The operation also resulted in the seizure of $25 million in cryptocurrencies.

Crypto.com files a complaint against the SEC after receiving Wells Notice
The company is challenging the extension of the SEC's jurisdiction to transactions on the secondary market, which it considers illegal.

FTX Wants All of Caroline Ellison's Assets Back
FTX has filed an application to approve a settlement agreement with Caroline Ellison, the former head of Alameda Research. The motion would require her to turn over nearly all of her remaining assets to FTX's creditors.

HBO reveals Satoshi's identity?
The HBO documentary "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery" claims that Peter Todd could be Satoshi. The director, Cullen Hoback, uses email exchanges and similarities in writing to support this theory.

EigenLayer victim of $5 million hack
EigenLayer has announced a security incident involving the unauthorized sale of 1.67 million EIGEN tokens, valued at $5.7 million. The attack was carried out by compromising an email exchange between an investor and the custodian.

Economists Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok discussed Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin as a candidate for the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics in an episode of the Marginal Revolution podcast.

Trump-connected World Liberty Financial formally proposes launching on Aave's Ethereum mainnet instance
They are offering AAVE 7% of the WLFI token supply (~$105M) which would double the size of AAVE’s existing treasury 🤯

Ethena picks BlackRock's BUIDL, Mountain, Superstate, and Sky's USDS for $46M tokenized RWA investment
The protocol's so-called Reserve Fund will allocate roughly $18 million in BUIDL, $13 million in USDS, $8 million in USDM and $7 million in USTB, according to a governance forum post.

The new EIP-7781 proposal aims to reduce Ethereum's block interval time from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. This would improve throughput by 33% and reduce the latency of Ethereum-based L2 rollups.

Stripe enables businesses to accept payments in USDC
Stripe has reintroduced crypto support by allowing businesses to accept payments in USDC via Ethereum, Solana and Polygon, after stopping bitcoin payments in 2018 due to volatility and fees.

VanEck launches $30 million fund
VanEck has launched a $30m venture capital fund focused on crypto, fintech and AI startups. The firm, known for its ETFs, is now exploring funding for blockchain innovation.

Tether to comply with MiCA
Tether, once critical of the new European MiCA regulations, has announced its intention to comply by adapting its technology.

A day close to zero for ETFs
Ethereum ETFs have seen very low volumes since their launch, with flows close to zero for the second time in many months.
