Radiant Capital victim of second hack this year
Blockchain lending protocol Radiant Capital has suffered a major attack, resulting in the loss of more than $50 million. The attacker took control of its smart contracts on BSC and ARB by accessing three of the private keys of Radiant's multi-signature wallet. This is not the first time Radiant has been backed, having lost $4.5 million in January 2023. Radiant has suspended trading on Binance Chain and Arbitrum, and is working with security partners Chainalysis and SEAL911 to resolve the issue.

SBF asks for retrial
SBF, the former CEO of FTX, has appealed against his 25-year prison sentence. His lawyers claim that the trial was biased and that his right to a fair defence was not respected.
Do Kwon allegedly transferred crypto from prison
Do Kwon allegedly made several crypto transactions from a prison in Montenegro after his arrest in March 2023. It reportedly took the authorities 72 days to seize his devices, allowing him to conduct these transactions
Ryan Salame begins prison sentence with humor
Ryan Salame, former CEO of FTX Digital Markets, recently announced on LinkedIn his transfer to Cumberland Federal Prison in a humorous tone, declaring that he was taking up a new βjobβ as an inmate.
ECB cuts interest rates by 0.25
The European Central Bank has cut interest rates by 0.25% to 3.25%. The decision is aimed at supporting economic growth and reflects a gradual fall in inflation in the eurozone.
Bitcoin Miner sues council to get 8,000 BTC back from landfill
James Howells accidentally threw away a hard drive containing the private key to 8,000 bitcoins in 2013. Despite 11 years of negotiations with Newport City Council, he has yet to search the landfill for the hard drive.

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi protocol backed by Donald Trump and his sons, launched the public sale of its governance token on October 15th. However, its been off to rocky start after an outage caused by an influx of visitors. So far only $12M was raised, well short of the $300 million expected.
Speculation swirls about mystery Polymarket trader betting big on a Trump victory
Donald Trump currently leads Kamala Harris by 20 points on Polymarket, with a 60.3% chance of winning the 2024 presidential election compared to Harris' 39.6%. One trader, Fredi9999, has appeared to be influencing the market by betting millions of dollars on a Trump victory. Many suspect major Trump Donor, Elon Musk, is behind the bets.
deBridge token goes live with DBR airdropped to 491K wallets
All airdrop recipients have the option to claim 50% at the token generation event (TGE), 50% six months later, or 80% at TGE minus a 20% penalty.

Sam Altman-backed Worldcoin project launches mainnet blockchain following a rebrand
The project has rebranded to World Network, or World for short. Additionally, the Ethereum-secured Layer 2 blockchain network connected to the project, known as World Chain, launched its mainnet Thursday.
Ledger targeted in phishing campaign
A new phishing attack is targeting Ledger users. Scammers are sending out emails asking users to enable a supposed security feature called 'clear signing'.
US users can buy crypto via Venmo
PayPal has announced that US users can now buy cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum via MoonPay using their Venmo accounts.
Stripe in talks to acquire stablecoin-focused fintech firm Bridge.xyz
A decision is yet to be made, and the parties could still back out of the potential deal, Bloomberg reported.
a16z releases annual State of Crypto report
The report shows record cryptocurrency adoption with 220 million active addresses in September 2024, tripling in one year. Solana stands out with 100 million addresses, and stablecoins overtake Visa in terms of transaction volume.
